Meet Sue
Sue holds a degree in Hospitality Management from Virginia Tech. She started her career as a management trainee for Crowne Plaza Hotels and then as a Catering Manager for the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner, VA. In 1993, Sue wanted to transition to the "other side" of meeting planning and was hired by a guy named Frank Powell to be a Marketing Specialist for National Trade Productions. NTP sold off their tabletop division, and Sue transitioned to Marketing Manager for IT Direct with Frank. Frank decided to start his own company where everyone could work from home (which fit her schedule perfectly with small children), and Sue followed him in the role of Finance Manager and whatever else needed to be done. Three kids and 25+ years later, Sue is still working for Frank as the OG employee.
Fun Facts
If you could be on a reality show, what would it be? Would you want to play the hero or the villain?
I would be on the Amazing Race with my husband. We would, of course, be the heroes because everyone would like him better than me!
What was the first concert you went to and where?
This concert dates me -- I saw Loverboy at the Capital Center in Landover, MD. My friend's car wouldn't start after the concert, and her dad had to drive the 45 minutes to come pick us up.
What sports team do you root for?
I am a HUGE football fan. I love all Washington, DC sports teams and, of course, Virginia Tech. My daughters go to UVA so I have to root for them too!
What is your favorite movie?
Big Fish is my favorite movie. It's not well known, but it's just a great story - highly recommend.
