Sharla Warren
Chief Operations Officer
But First...Coffee!
I love coffee. I pretty much always have a cup of coffee beside me while working. I also like to drink coffee with messages or images on the cups that make me happy. The coffee cup in this photo states that I coordinate chaos!
Meet Sharla
Simply stated, Sharla loves planning conferences. Creating an environment that successfully allows attendees to learn, network and share ideas is what motivates Sharla. Every conference has its own goals and objectives, and she finds it fun and challenging to find unique and engaging ways to achieve each event's goals. Sharla's professional values include hard work, engaging creative and innovative partners, strong communication with clients as well as staff and honesty. Sharla has worked with eventPower for 20+ years. She started when it consisted of just 3 employees and has been really lucky to be a part of the company's growth and success. Prior to eventPower, Sharla worked for the Property Management Association (Cohn Communications / PMA) where she planned (at the time) the largest Property Management Exposition. While at Cohn, she got a good understanding of the Association Management industry. Prior to PMA, Sharla was the Director of the National Society Children of the American Revolution. Sharla has a Master of Arts in Public Communications from American University, and she is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP).
Fun Facts
If you could have dinner with anyone (current or historical) who would it be and where would you go?
Professor McGonagall at the Three Broomsticks. I am a historian in my personal time, and there is no way I could choose an actual person. There are way too many amazing historical figures that I honestly could not choose.
What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
Outdoors with my family - we like to be very active. You can find us hiking, biking, swimming or simply hanging out with our neighbors.
What sports team do you root for?
University of Alabama - Roll Tide Roll! There really is no other team that compares. :-)
What is your "go to" karaoke song?
So - you don't want me to sing unless you want to clear out a room. If it's time to close an exhibit hall, I can sing a pretty good version of Happy Trails that will clear out the entire room in 50 seconds flat.
