My Personal Zen Space
In my photo, you'll notice an adorable little frog getting his "zen" on in Sukhasana (Easy Pose). I felt this little guy represented my continuous journey of self-enlightenment, learning to find peace and let things go (which, come on, as an event planner we need a stress reliever!) I love practicing yoga and finding whimsical ways to unwind in life.
Meet Cindy
Cindy has spent more than 20 years in the events industry. She started her career working for a hotel organizing golf outings for groups, then for a small, private event company coordinating corporate outings and incentive trips. She spent several more years in conference sales and service for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation crafting one-of-a-kind experiences at the historic destination. This early experience transitioned into a love of events where she has spent the last 15 years working for eventPower in all aspects of event planning and execution. Cindy’s passion is working with her clients to truly understand their vision and partnering together to obtain their goals. She has a degree in Marketing Communications, and serves on the board for the Williamsburg Montessori School. She also donates her time to local organizations coordinating auctions, fundraising events and golf tournaments.
Fun Facts
What are some things you think everyone should try at least once in their lifetime? Why?
Anything that scares them. Tackling your fears whether jumping off a cliff or holding a giant spider (can you guess mine?) helps you realize you can overcome obstacles and are stronger than you think.
What is your favorite way to spend your free time?
I love plants! And therefore I love to garden. There is such a sense of accomplishment watching something you've nurtured grow and thrive. I also find pulling weeds oddly therapeutic, especially right after it rains.
When you were 16, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Would you find it a surprise based on my previous love of plants, I wanted to be a biology major and specialize in horticulture? Event planning isn't too far off, right?
What are people often surprised to learn about you?
I used to kickbox. There's nothing like landing a good roundhouse kick to your opponent to relieve some stress and boost your mood. Good thing I'm into yoga now.
